of goodbyes and reflections #2

okok heres part 2-the boys. i really think ss cannot make it! this was how we looked a long time ago. happy and mad. think this is one of the nicest photo taken la, very natural. :D

so here they are. according to the photo. anghong jianming junxiang yuhe woonloong tiefu and nikhil. this is taken during my bday surprise from theem. =) this is another group of people whom ive grown rather close to during the 2 yr stay at vj. well at least i had their company when we go for lectures n during the breaks.

heres specially for my best friend! anghong!! =D

this is one really special friend, cos i remember that right from the start i found him really queer. very kanchiong n different. haha. how fate plays their tricks on us ar, to think tt he's like my best guy fren in school now. i guess life has its way la. cos after all the lectures tt ive been thru with him next to me, all those many many many tutorials tt we sat tgt, all the times when we ate tgt with mingg and those tuition times [ok 8 sessions n i pangsehed]. i began to really see how special a person he can be. and actually deep down he's a really great guy.
thanks hong, for always being there to listen to me ramble when im troubled, for enduring my nonsense when i feel shitty, for laughing alongside me and not at me, for always being there to give me the answers i need to my chemical questions [like, whats the angle to a linear compound?], for always being there to company me when everyone elses walks away, for always being free to play pool or watch movies with me. for all of that, thanks dude! jiayou with studying, im sure u will do well la. just chill n relax. but must study also la, n rest more!! i wish you happiness in life!:)

and of cos, i cant miss out my pw mate right! lim yuhe. actually i can talk about yuhe and woonloong tgt. like hello they are permanently together la! seriously. they have like the same watch, and they like to stick to each other n touch each other in class. G is for gay! =p but i noe deep down they are straight la, right. please let me be right.
yuhe was my pw mate so i knew him slightly more. like how he can be really really random, how he eats so much, n he is really super good with racket games, bad/squash/tennis he owns man. wl, on the other hand is more of the attention seeking kind. he loves to sing, so we have spend quite a bit of time listening to him sing, and honestly la, i think he isnt tt bad!

and then theres nikhil jianming and junxiang. these are people whom im nt as clsoe to, but they are still great people to hang out with. but havent really gotten to noethem as well as the rest, guess tt would take time. expecially to get jx n jm off their computer games, guess tt will take a long time. hah.

ok heres what everyones waiting for. especially joontat huh ;)
here's one for tiefu too! haha see we take photos tgt willingly la. no need to try to snap a photo of us with everyone else ducking away =p
tiefu.. he has been a really special friend. last yr we werent so close, so he was always this mysterious person who kept a lot to himself. as in i din noe much abt him la. but his magic tricks super cool. hahaha. but this yr things somehow got better, n i got to know him much better. =)thanks dude, for all the times u kept me going when things werent easy. for those magic tricks tt never fail to amaze me. for those long mugging sessions we have survived thru tgt, and many more to come. for those dinners n badminton sessions. for having that faith n trust in me.
maybe the coming 1 month plus is gonna be tough, but i think it will only make us stronger people. stay strong! theres 5 other people walking by your side. hahahahah. [those who noe what i mean, shuddup!] i wish u days of laughter and sunshine, on top of all the studying which are inevitable. but work hard, someday i wish u will be satisfied with the results u get :)

ok so thats part 2 done. i definitelywish tt i can know this grp of ppl better after the A's, and keep in contact with them. especially when we have all the time in the world. =DD

a handful more other posts to come. it takes time! :)

to my dear frens, cherish the mugging time now. there is still time, keep believing in yourself and dun dun dun dun dun give up. cos i think the world never gives up on any of you, unless u give up on yourself. but of cos, dun forget abt the world while u are busy studying. keep in close touch with yur loved ones and the things u love to do. take breaks n have enough sleep! love u all loads :)

Born to Try

by delta goodrem

Doing everything that I believe in
Going by the rules that I've been taught
More understanding of what's around me
And protected from the walls of love

All that you see is me
And all I truly believe

That I was born to try
I've learned to love
Be understanding
And believe in life

But you've got to make choices
Be wrong or right
Sometimes you've got to sacrifice the things you like
But I was born to try

No point in talking what you should have been
And regretting the things that went on
Life's full of mistakes, destinies and fate
Remove the clouds look at the bigger picture

try my dear friends. try your very best!
todays farewell assembly. lotsa things i wanna say, will do so when the photos are ready.

for now, happy weekends!

u noe recently ive been listening to gold90.5fm whenever i study at night, and theres always this reflection thing at 1130pm, which i feel is really good. to listen and then to think about. today's one was about perfecting relationships. here's the past few ive gathered.

RIGHT SPEECH
There is a Chinese saying which carries the meaning that "A speech will either prosper or ruin a nation." Many relationships break off because of wrong speech. When a couple is too close with each other, we always forget mutual respect and courtesy. We may say anything without considering if it would hurt the other party.

A friend and her millionaire husband visited their construction site. A worker who wore a helmet saw her and shouted,"Emily! Remember me? We used to date in the secondaryschool." On the way home, her millionaire husband teased her, "Luckily you married me. Otherwise youwill be the wife of a construction worker." She answered," You should appreciate that you married me. Otherwise, he will be the millionaire and not you."

Frequently exchanging these remarks plants the seed for a bad relationship. It's like a broken egg - cannot be reversed.

NO POINTING FINGERS

A man asked his father-in-law, "Many people praised you for asuccessful marriage. Could you please share with me your secret?" The father-in-law answered in a smile, "Never criticize your wife for her shortcomings or when she does something wrong. Always bear in mind that because of her shortcomings and weaknesses, she could not find a better husbandthan you."

We all look forward to being loved and respected. Many people are afraid of losing face. Generally, when a person makes a mistake, he would look around to find a scapegoat to point the finger at.This is the start of a war. We should always rememberthat when we point one finger at a person, the other four fingers are pointing at ourselves. If we forgive the others, others will ignore our mistake too.

CREATING PERFECT RELATIONSHIPS

A person visited the government matchmaker for marriage, SDU, and requested "I am looking for a spouse. Please help meto find a suitable one." The SDU officer said, "Your requirements, please." "Oh, good looking, polite, humorous, sporty, knowledgeable, good in singing and dancing. Willing to accompany me the whole day at home during my leisure hour, if I don't go out. Telling me interesting stories when I need companion for conversation and be silent when I want to rest." The officer listened carefully and replied, "I understand you need a television."

There is a saying that a perfect match can only be found between a blind wife and a deaf husband, because the blind wife cannot see the faults of the husband and the deafhusband cannot hear the nagging of the wife. Many couples are blind and deaf at the courting stage and dream of perpetual perfect relationship.Unfortunately, when the excitement of love wearsoff, they wake up and discover that marriage is not abed of roses. The nightmare begins.

BE PATIENT
A man came out ofhis home to admire his new truck. To his puzzlement, his three-year-old son was happily hammering dentsinto the shiny paint of the truck. The man ran to hisson, knocked him away, and hammered the little boy'shands into pulp as punishment. When the father calmeddown, he rushed his son to the hospital.Although the doctor tried desperately to save thecrushed bones, hefinally had to amputate the fingers from both theboy's hands. When the boy woke up from the surgery &saw his bandaged stubs, he innocently said, "Daddy,I'm sorry about your truck." Then he asked, "but whenare my fingers going to grow back?" The father wenthome & committed suicide.

Think about this story the next time someone steps onyour feet or uwish to take revenge. Think first before u lose yourpatience with someone u love.Trucks can be repaired.. Broken bones & hurt feelings often can't. Toooften we fail to recognize the difference between theperson and theperformance. We forget that forgiveness is greaterthan revenge.People make mistakes. We are allowed to make mistakes. But the actions we take while in a rage will haunt usforever.

and i saw this really hilarious joke. :)
5 Secrets to a Perfect Relationship
1. It is important that a man helps you around the house and has a job.
2. It is important that a man makes you laugh.
3. It is important to find a man you can count on and doesn't lie to you.
4. It is important that a man is good in bed and loves making love to you.
5. It is extremely important that these four men don't know each other.

ok that was long. but hopefully its a good read (and break from the mugging! ahah).

time. and faith and belief and support.
maybe with all these im going to be fine.
but theres still more to learn and understand and accept.

discipline

i think....
discipline is choosing to do the right thing even when you could have done otherwise without being found out. its doing the logical thing tt your head tells you to do while the heart maybe screaming for you to do otherwise.

i really wanna watch no reservations n the invasion movie n the rat one n many many many more movies. acty i wanna watch no reservations most.

the next time..

YAY! one more bottle of absolute raspberri to my collection. heehee!!!!

random thoughts i got while mugging [or rather stoning] today.

the next time before you start complaining about how tiring studying is, think about the people who have to toil and work for like so many hours a day to be paid peanuts. like the Cambodian people in the rubbish dump, picking up recyclable objects from heaps of rubbish under the scotching sun as long as the sun is up for a few cents per kg.

the next time before you complain about having a bad hair day, think about people who do not even have the luxury to buy shampoo to wash their hair.
the next time before you complain about your fat legs, hands, arms... think about people who do not even have the complete set of limbs.
the next time before you complain about a small pimple on your face [ which really cant be seen] or about some blackhead outbreak, think about the people who do know even have the sight to see whats growing on their faces.

the next time before you lose your cool, before you get into a conflict/ quarrel with someone, think about the happy times u've had tgt, the value of the relationship you have with the person, and deal with matters calmly.

the next time before you turn someones help away, before you walk past people selling flags on a hot sat afternoon, before you tell your frens to 'sry im nt free to chat now', think about how sucky it feels to be at the receiving end, about how you would feel if you took reversed roles.

the next time before you procrastinate, before you think ablong the line of " i'll do it tmr, i'll tell you some other time', think about what if tomorrow never comes.

so much said, but honestly im guilty of many of the things above.
but i'll learn. :)

lee qinghong once said,
when shared, happiness is doubled n sorrows are halfed.
remember the deal! :)

Spanish computer

A Spanish teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine.

'House' for instance, is feminine: 'la casa.''
Pencil, 'however, is masculine: 'el Lapiz.'

A student asked, 'What gender is a 'computer'?'

Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups, male and female, and asked them to decide for themselves whether 'computer' should be a masculine or a feminine noun. Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation.

The men's group decided that 'computer' should definitely be of the feminine gender ('la computadora'), because:
1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic;
2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else;
3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later retrieval; and
4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.

(THIS GETS BETTER!)

The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be masculine ('el computador'), because:
1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on;
2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves;
3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem; and
4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model.

The women won.

im so excited cos im going to meet vivian sao today!! wahaha. this is like after hearing about her for months n months alr! =) n i have wasted my whole weekends away again, arghhh. staying at home kills all the motivation to study. especially when the weather's rainy n nice to sleep. =/

a fellow guardian angel told me this:

remember you don't have to possess the person you love. its enough that you
have the person in your heart and you make sure the person's happy :)

Life's Little Instruction Book
Have a firm handshake.
Look people in the eye.
Sing in the shower.
Keep secrets.
Never give up on anybody. Miracles happen everyday.
Always accept an outstretched hand.
Be brave. Even if you're not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference.
Avoid sarcastic remarks.
Make it a habit to do nice things for people who will never find out.
Never deprive someone of hope; it might be all that they have.
When playing games with children, let them win.
Give people a second chance, but not a third.
Be romantic.
Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.
Loosen up. Relax. Except for rare life-and-death matters, nothing is as important as it first seems.
Don't allow the phone to interrupt important moments. It's there for your convenience, not the caller's.
Be a good loser.
Be a good winner.

Think twice before burdening a friend with a secret.
When someone hugs you, let them be the first to let go.
Be modest.
Keep it simple.
Don't burn bridges. You'll be surprised how many times you have to cross the same river.
Live your life with no Regrets
Be bold and courageous. When you look back on life, you'll regret the things you didn't do more than the one's you did.
Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them.
Remember no one makes it alone. Have a grateful heart and be quick to acknowledge those who helped you.
Take charge of your attitude. Don't let someone else choose it for you.
Visit friends and relatives when they are in hospital; you need only stay a few minutes.
Begin each day with some of your favorite music.
Once in a while, take the scenic route.
Send a lot of Valentine cards. Sign them, "Someone who thinks you're terrific."
Answer the phone with enthusiasm and energy in your voice.
Show respect for everyone who works for a living, regardless of how trivial their job.
Send your loved ones flowers. Think of a reason later.
Become someone's hero.
Count your blessings.
Compliment the meal when you're a guest in someone's home.
Wave at the children on a school bus.
Remember that 80 per cent of the success in any job is based on your ability to deal with people.
Don't expect life to be fair.

i got this in my mailbox, something i found really interesting.

Today I Will Make a Difference
By: Max Lucado

Today I will make a difference. I will begin by controlling my thoughts. A person is the product of his thoughts. I want to be happy and hopeful. Therefore, I will have thoughts that are happy and hopeful. I refuse to be victimized by my circumstances. I will not let petty inconveniences such as stoplights, long lines, and traffic jams be my masters. I will avoid negativism and gossip. Optimism will be my companion, and victory will be my hallmark. Today I will make a difference.

I will be grateful for the twenty-four hours that are before me. Time is a precious commodity. I refuse to allow what little time I have to be contaminated by self-pity, anxiety, or boredom. I will face this day with the joy of a child and the courage of a giant. I will drink each minute as though it is my last. When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever. While it is here, I will use it for loving and giving. Today I will make a difference.

I will not let past failures haunt me. Even though my life is scarred with mistakes, I refuse to rummage through my trash heap of failures. I will admit them. I will correct them. I will press on. Victoriously. No failure is fatal. It's OK to stumble... . I will get up. It's OK to fail... . I will rise again. Today I will make a difference.

I will spend time with those I love. My spouse, my children, my family. A man can own the world but be poor for the lack of love. A man can own nothing and yet be wealthy in relationships. Today I will spend at least five minutes with the significant people in my world. Five quality minutes of talking or hugging or thanking or listening. Five undiluted minutes with my mate, children, and friends.

Today I will make a difference.
